For those of us in the United States we are in the month of Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving just passed last
month for Canada...this is the time of year to give thanks and to be grateful for all that we have been able
to harvest over the year, both tangibly and in the more expansive sense. First and foremost remember to
give thanks to Gaia, Mother Earth supports us, provides for us, nurtures us and is the mother to us all. As
we are being thankful and full of gratitude for life and all that we receive and give we are also moving into
shorter and shorter days, a time to go to bed earlier, a time to give ourselves more time to just sit and be,
a time to go to inward and take stock of ourselves.
Feel the changes in the air, look around at the leaves falling to the ground, the animals preparing for their
winter rest, feel the crisp cold mornings. In this season of change and letting go, now is the perfect time
to drop everything: routines, habits, ideas that do not serve you on this walk. Cultivate inwardly the things
that fulfill and nourish you on all levels, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually...especially cultivate
your heart, let go and heal old wounds.
As you go about your days this month remember the season that we are in and that this is the time of thanks. Slow down and as you go about your day give thanks to everything and everyone. We all have our roles and each of us are opening up more and more each moment to what that truly is. The more we can have thanks, be grateful, let gratitude emanate from our being...the more we can truly honor ourselves and all of those we encounter, this also opens our hearts and lets our souls know that we truly understand why we are here. The mineralogical kingdom has been here on the planet recording all of the histories that have occurred within its being. Now with crystals and other minerals so accessible to so many, we all have the opportunity to access information and gifts beyond our wildest dreams. As you work with your crystals and other minerals, remember always to give thanks...to send them love and to honor them, their wisdoms and gifts. Each authentic being has special gifts, when we slow down and truly connect with that being we are offered such a precious opportunity. As a new stone or crystal enters your life take time to really connect into it, understand it as it is understanding you, honor the conscious that is in front of you.
I want to speak a bit about crystals that have been manipulated by humans...many crystals have various treatments: heat treating, coating with gold and other metals fumes, cutting, polishing. Many of these techniques can be used to enhance a crystal or mineral and some are so unconsciously done that the being needs time to process what has just happened. This does not mean that the being does not adjust to its new state of being, it simply means that it has a longer period to integrate and understand consciously what has just happened to it. Many of the processes that humans do to crystals such as heat treating amethyst to create citrine naturally occurs in nature, the difference is that the energetic of natural citrine from the earth and heat treated citrine created by man has a very energetic signature, almost uncomparable really...they both have their place and they feel totally different.
When finding the being that is right for you...hold it up to your heart and feel it. Don't use you head, put down the books with all of their descriptions and limitations on the mineralogical kingdom and just feel. Remember the simplest and easiest way to connect with a stone being is to send a golden beam of light from your heart to it. Does it feel like it is beneficial? Where do you feel it in your body? Is that an area that you have been working with? An area that you know you need to work with, either physically or energetically? Empower yourself and go within, to often we are reaching externally for answers...look within and know that you have the answers within.
